Just got home from Disney to see a week's worth of great post from Drew. I then signed up for the new Kort Central website. Pretty cool to see our group on the web!
Drew, sounds like a tough first week. Keep on Keeping on.
If there is one thing I have learned from my time at boot camp, training camp and summer camp .... its that the first week is always the hardest.

Day 4
Still struggling. Not as much energy/stamina as I'm used to having. I'm down 6 lbs. in 4 days. Hopefully that will continue! Looking forward to a small but regular meal tonight, I get 1 per week.

Day Two
Day two, what a short period of time that sounds like. WRONG! I'm a "cold turkey" kinda guy who never likes to "lay up" and definitely likes to push "all in" with 2-6 suited. Maybe just maybe I should have eased into this a little more slowly. Now I only ate around 900 calories yesterday, so, I know that was part of the problem, but dang I felt/feel like doo-doo. However, today is off to a better start than yesterday. I purchased all my "new foods" last night and so far today I've had a protein shake and a cup of yogurt. I have had to "bust a cap" a few times in the Craving Monster that keeps roaring in my head . I think the monster needs a name. I'll come up with one soon, I'm sure.
On another funny/tear jerker note: I tried to explain to my three year old last night about what was going on, bad idea. I tried to explain it on her level and I said; "Daddy's gonna get a lot smaller". She took it to mean that I was going to be the size of a gnome. So, I had to explain a little more in detail that "Daddy's fat and Daddy's belly would be getting a lot smaller" her reaction was to run over to me, jump up on my lap, rub my belly and tell me that she wanted me not to change and to stay fat, she loved me. This made Marsha cry and made me want to call the whole thing off and go get some thing to eat!

The night before and the morning of Day One.
So I went last night to shop for protein powder and supplements....wow....i got an immediate case of vertigo. I walked around GNC reading labels and looking at prices and that's kinda when it all got very real. It was very apparent that I don't know anywhere close to enough about all of this. I was glad I had Marsha there for some support. I ended up leaving with 2 fruit flavored protein drinks(the kind I'll have to drink for the 1st week after surgery). The best part of the story is after we left GNC we went to Outback. I loved blowin' up a bloomin' onion, salad, loaded baked potato, and ribeye for my last "last supper".
Soooo, now it's this morning. The first morning of the rest of my life. I drank my first fruit punch flavored protein drink for breakfast, not too bad. I don't have a lot of energy, but I'll have to drink through it. I've gone cold turkey off of sodas, sweet tea, caffeine and most solid foods starting today. I should be real fun to be around later today and this week. And I should be in a real good mood when I have to drive by Chick-fil-a and Wild Wing cafe on my back to GNC to get some powder tonight.

Alrighty...so, today was supposed to be the day that I started all liquids. Change o' plans. I spent all weekend at the lake and did NOT take the time to purchase any of the protein powders and drinks that I will need. So, tomorrow will be "L" Day. I kinda feel bad for not getting my stuff together, but hey, what do you do? Also, a big shout out goes to Brian. the belt you bought has brought many laughs to many!
